Latest update from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the circulation image of storm No. 1, Bach Long Vi special zone has had strong winds of level 9, gusts of level 10; Co To (Quang Ninh) has strong winds of level 8, gusts of level 9, sea waves 2.25m high; Cua Ong (Quang Ninh) has strong winds of level 8, gusts of level 9; Mong Cai (Quang Ninh) has strong winds of level 8, gusts of level 10; Quang Ha (Quang Ninh) has strong winds of level 8, gusts of level 9.
At 8:00 PM on July 4th, the center of storm No. 1 was in the coastal area of Quang Ninh province. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was strong at level 8-9, gusting at level 11, moving in the North-Northwest direction at a speed of 10-15 km/h.

According to Mr. Mai Van Khiem, Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this is the time with the strongest winds on land, strong winds will continue until after about 11 pm.
The affected area is the coastal areas of provinces/cities Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and Hung Yen.
Risk of wind gradually strengthening to level 6-7, near the storm center level 8, gusts level 10-11; sea waves 2-3.5m high; storm surge of about 0.2-0.4m.
Strong winds can blow off roofs, damage temporary structures, break down green trees, billboards; affect electrical systems, communication and traffic. Large waves combined with rising water can cause localized flooding in river mouths, tidal flats and low-lying areas; affect dykes, seawalls and coastal works.
From tonight to tomorrow morning, the Northeast region (mainly Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Lang Son, Bac Ninh) will have heavy to very heavy rain, with the risk of waterlogging in low-lying areas. Warning of high to very high risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous communes tonight and tomorrow (July 5)" - Mr. Khiem advised.
Regarding rainfall, according to the meteorological agency, from the evening of July 4 to the end of July 5, the Northeast region will have common rainfall of 50-110mm, locally over 150mm; especially the Northeast region will have heavy to very heavy rain of 100-250mm, locally over 350mm.
Forecast for the next 12 hours, the storm will move in the North direction at a speed of 10-15 km/h. The storm's center is located at about 22.5 degrees North latitude - 107.9 degrees East longitude; over the southern area of Guangxi province (China). The intensity gradually weakens into a tropical depression, wind force level 6, gusts level 8.
Forecast for the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move in the North-Northeast direction at a speed of 10-15 km/h, weakening into a low pressure area. By 7:00 PM on July 5th, the center of the low pressure area will be located at about 23.9 degrees North latitude - 108.3 degrees East longitude; over the southern area of Guangxi province (China). The intensity of the weakening will decrease to below level 6.
At sea, the affected area is the North of the Gulf of Tonkin (including Bach Long Vi special zone, Van Don, Co To, Cat Hai and Hon Dau island).
Risk of strong winds at level 6-7, near the storm center level 8-9, gusts at level 11; sea waves 2-4.5m high; very rough seas.
Dangerous weather conditions can cause capsizing, sinking or damage to fishing boats, transport boats, tourist boats and vehicles operating at sea; aquaculture cages, boat anchorage areas and coastal works are at risk of being damaged. Seafood exploitation, transportation and tourism activities at sea are likely to be interrupted.
