On the afternoon of May 3, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management - Ministry of Health said that statistics in the past 24 hours from 7 am on May 2 - 7 am on May 3, medical examination and treatment facilities under the Ministry of Health, universities, sectoral health departments and 34 provinces and cities directly under the Central Government were all on duty at 4 levels fully, performing examination and emergency care for 141,187 patient visits.
The total number of inpatients hospitalized in the past 24 hours is 31,002 people.
The total number of deaths (including deaths before the hospital and prognosis of death requests) is 266 people, of which deaths before the hospital are 48 people, deaths at the hospital are 40 people, prognosis of death requests is 178 people.
The total number of patients transferred to the hospital in the past 24 hours is 2,308 people; the total number of patients recovered and discharged from the hospital is 22,252 people.
The total number of patients currently being treated at medical examination and treatment facilities at 7 am on May 3 is 250,594 people, of which 3,617 severe and critical cases are being actively monitored, resuscitated and treated wholeheartedly by medical examination and treatment facilities.
In the past 24 hours from 7 am on May 2 - 7 am on May 3, the total number of examinations and emergency treatments suspected of being due to traffic accidents was 2,702 people; of which 1,002 people had to be hospitalized for inpatient treatment or monitoring, and 244 people were transferred to other hospitals.
Deaths suspected of being due to traffic accidents are 15 people, of which deaths before the hospital are 11 people, deaths at the hospital are 4 people; the number of patients suspected of being due to traffic accidents who predicted death and asked to go home is 7 people.
The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management said that during the holidays, from 7 am on April 30 - 7 am on May 3, medical staff at medical examination and treatment facilities were on duty, examining and providing emergency care for 316,870 patients; hospitalized for inpatient treatment for 91,749 cases; and completed discharge procedures for 67,584 patients.
Also during that time, there were 6,637 people transferred to hospitals; the total number of deaths (including deaths before the hospital and prognosis of death for remission) was 730 people.
According to the assessment of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, during the April 30th and May 1st holidays of 2026, although the workload increased, the team of officials and medical staff at all medical examination and treatment facilities has been on duty at 4 levels fully, seriously implementing the direction of the Ministry of Health on ensuring medical examination and treatment, traffic accident emergency care; focusing on emergency care, resuscitation, and timely treatment for patients, especially severe and critical cases.
The situation of examination, emergency, hospitalization, and death suspected of being due to traffic accidents during the holidays did not have any sudden changes.
