The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that at the reception, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister Bui Thanh Son highly appreciated the visit taking place in the context that the two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - North Korea diplomatic relations in 2025; suggested that the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries continue to coordinate closely, promote high-level visits and contacts between the two countries to enhance friendship, understanding and mutual trust; effectively implement cooperation agreements between the two countries; continue to coordinate in international and regional forums, thereby contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Pak Sang Gil highly appreciated Vietnam's important achievements in many fields in recent years, especially in economic and social development and recovery of growth momentum after the COVID-19 pandemic; at the same time, strengthening and expanding foreign relations with many countries around the world, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in the international arena.
On the morning of September 10, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Thanh Binh held talks with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Korea Pak Sang Gil within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam.
At the talks, the two sides agreed to coordinate in preparing activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-DPRK diplomatic relations in 2025, focusing on promoting delegation exchanges between the two countries; coordinate in studying the possibility of cooperation in mutually beneficial fields in accordance with international regulations. The two sides also discussed the regional and international situation and issues of mutual concern.
Deputy Minister Pham Thanh Binh affirmed Vietnam's consistent stance of always attaching importance to the traditional friendship between the two countries, which was personally built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung, and has been continuously preserved, inherited and promoted by generations of leaders and people of the two countries; wishing to cooperate more closely with the DPRK in promoting the development of relations between the two countries in many fields, in accordance with the aspirations of the people of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
For his part, Deputy Minister Pak Sang Gil said that under the leadership of General Secretary and State President Kim Jong Un, North Korea is implementing the tasks of the 8th National Party Congress and has achieved many new achievements in the comprehensive development of the North Korean State, especially in areas such as economy, science and technology, culture, and space. The overall strength of North Korea has been significantly enhanced.
Deputy Minister Park Sang Gil emphasized that the bilateral relationship has entered a new stage of development since the official visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and State President of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un (March 2019); affirming the consistent stance of the Party, State and Government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea wishing to continue to maintain and promote the bilateral relationship to develop more strongly and substantially in the coming time.
During his visit to Vietnam, Deputy Minister Pak Sang Gil visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and visited several localities.
