According to the plan, after the end of the working trip in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan will bring the trophy cup back to Vietnam to hand over to Nguyen Dinh Bac - the striker who left a prominent mark in the competition journey of U23 Vietnam at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
Nguyen Dinh Bac is 1 of 4 players who have scored 4 goals at the tournament, alongside Ali Azaizeh (U23 Jordan), Leonardo Farah Shahin (U23 Lebanon) and Ryunosuka Sato (U23 Japan). However, according to AFC's announcement, Dinh Bac was awarded the Golden Boot title thanks to his performance and direct contributions to the overall achievements of the U23 Vietnam team.
Notably, the achievement of the striker born in 2004 became even more impressive when he only started 2 out of 6 matches in the tournament. Due to physical problems and the need to manage injuries, Dinh Bac was mainly used with calculation but still left a clear mark every time he appeared on the field.
Dinh Bac's four goals respectively came from a penalty kick to open the score in the match against U23 Jordan in the group stage, a solo goal against the home team U23 Saudi Arabia, a header in the 3-2 victory over U23 UAE in the quarterfinals and a free kick in the 3rd place match against U23 Korea.
In addition to 4 goals, Dinh Bac also had 2 assists, making an important contribution to helping U23 Vietnam win 3rd place overall after the victory in the penalty shootout against U23 Korea.
