According to the schedule, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics will take place at 7:30 p.m. on July 26 (local time), which is 0:30 a.m. on July 27, (Vietnam time).
The general director of the Paris 2024 Olympic opening ceremony is Thomas Jolly, only 42 years old.
This is the first time in history that the opening ceremony of an Olympics took place outside the grounds of a stadium. The host country's organizing committee decided to hold this ceremony on the Seine River.
The river is more than 6km long and becomes a parade route and the main riverbank is two rows of giant stands.
The parade along the Seine is a visual journey through the history and architecture of Paris.
According to the revelation, the boat group will start from the Austerlitz bridge next to the Jardin des Plantes, go west past famous landmarks such as the Alexandre III bridge, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre museum and competition venues such as the Esplanade des Invalides, Grand Palais... before ending at Trocadero - where the Olympic torch is located.
Each National Sports Delegation appeared on boats equipped with cameras to follow the athletes' journey through central Paris.
Additionally, there are 80 giant screens mounted around Paris to enhance the audience's experience.
