Independence Palace welcomes more than 60,700 visitors, only 89 tickets charge 500,000 VND/camera

Ho Chi Minh City - From August 1st to August 12th, Independence Palace welcomed more than 60,700 visitors. Among them, the number of tickets sold with a fee of 500,000 VND/camera is 89 tickets.

From August 1st, the Reunification Hall applies a new price list for photography services at the National Special Relic Dinh Doc Lap. In which, the fee of 500,000 VND/camera received much attention from people and tourists.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper at noon on August 13, Mr. Bui Huu Toan - Director of the Reunification Hall said that from August 1 to August 12, Independence Palace welcomed more than 60,700 visitors. Among them, the number of tickets sold applies a fee of 500,000 VND/camera at the level of 89 tickets.

According to Mr. Toan, this figure shows that the application of the regulation does not affect the overall number of visitors. After more than 10 days of implementation, the situation of service photography activities at relics has had positive changes and reduced the impact on the overall visiting space.

The Director of the Reunification Hall emphasized that the regulation on collecting a fee of 500,000 VND/camera is aimed at individuals taking service photos, not applicable to individual tourists or families carrying cameras to take souvenir photos.

To avoid tourists and people misunderstanding the subjects of application, the Reunification Hall has proactively adjusted the content of the listing notice from August 11 to be clearer.

For cases where individuals bring large cameras for sightseeing, the unit will proactively ask about the purpose. If customers confirm that they are purely sightseeing tourists, the unit will invite them to buy normal sightseeing tickets, completely without additional fees.

The Reunification Hall continues to arrange personnel to be on duty to guide tourists in the best way.

According to the update of the Reunification Hall, the fee of 500,000 VND/camera is applied to individuals taking service photos (graduate, birthday...). This fee is applied to the outdoor campus and inside the Independence Palace, valid until 6 pm on the same day. Regarding the requirements for accompanying accessories (if any), compact equipment, flashing (diameter < 80cm); no use of flashes, flash legs, flash legs when taking photos indoors.
