Recently, Korean YouTuber Wowsung posted a video exploring a series of street foods at Ba Chieu Market. He was surprised because the fruits here are quite expensive but the snacks are delicious and cheap.
The first dish that Korean tourists try is banh xeo. The banh xeo bows are fried and arranged on banana leaves to absorb less oil. Banh xeo here will be served with raw vegetables and sweet and sour dipping sauce.
Wowsung commented that the bucket of sticky rice is fragrant, the skin is crispy on the outside, and the inside is flooded with shrimp filling, meat and bean sprouts. When eaten with dipping sauce, the sweet and sour fish sauce is extremely delicious. He was excited to eat with many different types of vegetables such as mustard greens, onions, herbs, etc. A large banh xeo here costs 50,000 VND.
After finishing the banh xeo, Wowsung continued to enjoy the fish sauce noodle soup. A full portion of the fish sauce noodles has squid, eggplant, shrimp, sausage, fish, pork and quite a lot of chives to make it smell.
Wowsung said he was quite curious about whether the broth of this vermicelli dish had the fish sauce smell that the name had. He rated the noodle soup as sweet and light, with a characteristic fish sauce smell but still very easy to eat, not too strong. After many years of living in Vietnam, Wowsung has learned how to eat "standard" Vietnamese noodles with extra prices, raw vegetables and a little fresh chili before enjoying.
He kept exclaiming because the topics of the noodles were so high-quality and full. In addition to large shrimp, vermicelli has meat and seafood but costs only 20,000 VND.
The Korean YouTuber said that around the market there are many attractive, delicious snack shops at cheap prices. However, because he was so full, he decided to continue exploring the cuisine here for another day. He was grateful that many sellers recognized him, even offering free meals.
