Tourism businesses in Ho Chi Minh City have launched hundreds of Tet At Ty tour programs to serve the spring travel needs of tourists.
Ms. Tran Phuong Linh - Marketing Director - Information Technology of BenThanh Tourist Company commented that the 9-day Tet holiday will directly impact the trend of tourists choosing tours.
Overseas tours with medium or long-term itineraries are more popular with tourists. Of these, China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia continue to be the markets attracting the most tourists during this year's Lunar New Year.
Prices for Tet tours abroad increase by 4-20% compared to normal days.
"Purchasing power is gradually increasing. Currently, the company has completed more than 60% of the plan for foreign tour markets during Tet" - Ms. Phuong Linh said.
The domestic tourism market during the Lunar New Year 2025 is mainly medium and short-term tours. The northern mountainous tourist routes, Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, and Da Nang are the destinations that tourists are interested in during this year's Tet holiday.
According to Mr. Pham Anh Vu - Communications Director of Viet Tourism Joint Stock Company, during Tet, foreign tourist routes will still overwhelm the proportion of domestic tourists.
The company noted that for long-distance tours such as Europe, Australia and some "hot" foreign routes such as Japan, Korea, etc., many groups of tourists have booked reservations. The long holiday will be a favorable condition for this trend to increase in the near future.
