Summer is the tourist season, but the number of visitors to Bac Lieu this summer is much smaller than previous years.

The tourist area has many popular entertainment and recreation areas, but this year there are few tourists."
In tourist destinations in Bac Lieu recognized by the Mekong Delta Tourism Association as typical destinations, the number of visitors is also decreasing. Typical places are: Ho Nam Eco-tourism, Hung Vuong Square, Cao Van Lau Theater... the number of visitors coming to visit this summer is quite modest.
The owner of Cach Mang Bao Eco-tourism Facility (Vinh Loi District, Bac Lieu) analyzed that the eco-tourism model and experiential tourism after a period of time when customers no longer like it. Currently, I plan to switch to another business model.
"I named this place as the Shrimp Garden to create a sense of closeness whenever you are looking for a place to escape the pressures of life..." - the opening words in a recent post on the Facebook page of the Shrimp Garden homestay as containing the love of nature and the passion of those who work in tourism with a heart.
Located in Vinh Hau A commune (Hoa Binh district), this is one of the eco-tourism destinations that was once expected to contribute to making an impression on the Bac Lieu tourism map. Expect to open a resort space in harmony with nature, where children can learn how to harvest clean vegetables, feed the flock, catch crabs and fish, swim in ponds, row boats, etc., this is a clean destination for families to connect with each other and connect people with the living environment.
However, after many years of operation and many changes in location, this facility is struggling to survive. In addition, the rainy season has caused business operations to not be optimistic.
Waiting for opportunities to develop
Despite many difficulties, this homestay owner, as well as many other tourism workers, hopes to have capital to maintain operations and bring interesting experiences to tourists.
Not only this place, many other eco-tourism destinations are currently only open for holidays and Tet due to lack of visitors. Maintaining daily activities becomes a burden, causing many garden owners to regret temporary or long-term closures.
Most tourists today prefer short-term travel, take quick check-in photos, have immediate entertainment and easily share them on social networks. This puts pressure on ecological models that are prone to depth, emotion and connection.
On the part of business owners, many people are still self-conscious, lacking clear strategies, promoting and building brands, linking destinations to create attractive tours, routes...
Mr. Bui Quoc Duong, owner of the homestay Huong Nam Tom shared: "We really hope to have the opportunity to support and connect through the construction of towers, connecting routes, organizing seasonal experience events, connecting with schools and family groups to travel all year round, not just seasonally as at present".
In addition, transport infrastructure and service facilities at eco-tourism destinations are still broken and unsynchronized. The lack of additional services such as accommodation, dining, and combined experiences makes it difficult for the journey to green tourist areas to become a complete product.
