Hoang Thuy Linh's film is far behind Son Tung and My Tam

Among the music documentaries of Vietnamese artists in recent years, Hoang Thuy Linh's "Vietnam Concert Film" has the lowest revenue, up to this point.

According to the producer, Hoang Thuy Linh's music documentary "Vietnam Concert Film: We are Vietnamese" will leave theaters in the next few days.

"Vietnam Concert Film: We are Vietnamese" by Hoang Thuy Linh was released on March 14, earning more than 203 million VND as of noon on March 21.

Previously, on March 20, the female singer affirmed that the film had never been pressured by ticket sales. She admitted that this genre is picky about viewers and is unlikely to attract audiences to the theater. Hoang Thuy Linh hopes that the audience can find inspiration to overcome difficulties in life when watching the film.

Initially, Hoang Thuy Linh appointed the film to be shown in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi with a limited number of screenings. After that, the film's screenings were increased and expanded to Da Nang, Can Tho and Hai Phong.

Despite efforts to promote, "Vietnam Concert Film: We are Vietnamese" by Hoang Thuy Linh is still a Vietnamese music documentary with low revenue, inferior to previous films by My Tam and Son Tung M-TP.

My Tam once made a documentary "Nguoi act gian", Son Tung M-TP released "Sky Tour the movie". Of which, My Tam's film earned 12.3 billion VND, while Son Tung M-TP's film earned 10 billion VND.

At the end of February 2024, "Anh trai say hi: The villain creates a hero" lasted 120 minutes, telling the journey of 30 artists with moments behind the scenes. This is the domestic documentary with the highest number of pre-booked tickets ever, with more than 45,000 tickets. According to Box Office Vietnam, as of noon on March 21, the film is currently top 1 Vietnamese music documentary with the highest revenue at 14.8 billion VND.

Compared to other theatrical films, music documentaries have the advantage of being easy to organize supporting activities such as "opening blind bags" (or "losing blind bags"), when the singers in the films can suddenly appear at a screening and interact with the audience. Therefore, many audiences have chosen to watch it many times to have the opportunity to meet their favorite artist directly.

In general, music documentary projects are released with limited screenings, the audience is mainly fans of artists.

"Vietnam Concert Film: We are Vietnamese" by Hoang Thuy Linh did not have good revenue after the screening time because the film still has many negative points.

The film does not have many valuable details, and cannot portray Hoang Thuy Linh as a talented and individual artist.

Some people think that Hoang Thuy Linh spoke too much in the framework of a music documentary. All the guests interviewed could not say anything other than... praising Hoang Thuy Linh.

The second half of the film is caught up in the fact that the crew and Hoang Thuy Linh praise themselves, causing the film to lack the necessary objective perspective.

What makes many people question is Hoang Thuy Linh's live voice. Instead of enjoying the female singer's real voice, viewers can just listen to edited and meticulously arranged audio versions through studio effects.
