On the evening of August 28, the closing and awarding ceremony of the first Hanoi Short Film Festival (Sao Khue Award) took place in a solemn and emotional atmosphere at Kim Dong Theater, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
The event marked the success of a meaningful film festival, towards the theme "For a thousand-year-old Hanoi of culture".
After a careful selection and evaluation process, the jury awarded the First Prize to the People's Army Cinema's work "Hoa Prize", directed by Colonel Vu Anh Nhat.
The 28-minute film tells the story of efforts to mend relations between the United States and Vietnam after nearly three decades, through a meeting between former pilots of the two countries.
Furthermore, the work also conveys a message of tolerance and the desire for peace, made in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic with many challenges. "The work conveys a message about the love of peace of Hanoi people, in the past, modern times and the future" - Director Vu Anh Nhat emotionally shared when receiving the award.
In addition to the First Prize, the Festival also awarded two Second Prizes to the documentary "Tomorrow Will Be Sunny" by director Do Thi Huyen Trang and the animated film "Female General Me Linh" by director Phung Van Ha.
Three Third Prizes and five Consolation Prizes were also awarded to outstanding works in three genres: short feature films, short animated films and short documentaries.
The first Hanoi Short Film Festival is an important cultural event, marking 29 years of formation and development of the Hanoi Cinema Association. Organized by the Hanoi Union of Literature and Arts in collaboration with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the Festival attracted 32 entries, including 20 documentaries, 10 animations and 2 films. short story.
