The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has just issued a telegram on responding to storms near the East Sea.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 10:00 a.m. on September 2, 2024, storm Yagi was active in the sea east of Luzon Island (Philippines), the center of the storm was at about 15.7 degrees North latitude, 122.7 degrees East longitude with wind force level 8, gust level 11. Forecast in the next 24 hours, the storm will move in the West Northwest direction, about 20km/h.
At 10:00 a.m. on September 3, the storm's center was right on the northeastern sea of Luzon Island, with a strong intensity of level 9, gusting over level 12.
In the next 24 - 48 hours, the storm will move west at a speed of about 10km/h, with the potential to strengthen and enter the East Sea.
At 10:00 a.m. on September 4, the storm center was in the eastern sea of the North East Sea, with a strong intensity of level 10, gusting to level 13.
In the next 48 - 72 hours, the storm will move west at a speed of about 15km/h, with the potential to strengthen to level 11, gusting to level 14.
From the next 72 - 120 hours, the storm will move mainly to the west, traveling 10 - 15km per hour, with the possibility of increasing in intensity.
To proactively respond to the storm's developments, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development requested ministries, branches, and Chairmen of People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Phu Yen to closely monitor the storm's developments and strictly manage vessels going out to sea.
At the same time, organize a count and notify owners of vehicles and captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm so that they can proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas. Dangerous areas in the next 24 hours: North of latitude 15.0; East of longitude 119.0 (dangerous areas are adjusted in forecast bulletins).
Provinces and cities are ready with forces and means to rescue when requested.
In addition, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, the coastal information station system and mass media agencies from central to local levels have increased measures to inform authorities at all levels, owners of means of transport operating at sea and people about the storm's developments so that they can proactively prevent and respond.
