Hoa Son Bridge connecting Dong Cao Ward (Pho Yen City) and Hiep Hoa District (Bac Giang) started construction at the end of 2022. The total investment of the project is 540 billion VND.
According to the reporter's record on September 3, the Hoa Son bridge project has been completed. The approach road in Bac Giang province was completed half a year ago. The approach road in Dong Cao ward (Pho Yen city) is still under construction. Some locations have been basically completed, paved with asphalt and can be used for traffic.
Meanwhile, some electric poles and transformer stations on the transmission line in Thai Nguyen province have not been relocated. Many new electric poles and transformer stations have been erected for a long time but have not been installed.
On Hoa Son Bridge, iron barriers and concrete pillars have been set up to prevent traffic. However, motorbikes and bicycles still try to squeeze through the barriers to cross the bridge.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tai (Hiep Hoa, Bac Giang) said that the bridge was completed a long time ago but has not been opened to traffic, causing many difficulties for people. Currently, motorbikes and bicycles still squeeze across the bridge to reduce travel distance.
"If you don't go over the bridge, you have to travel 6 to 10km further to get from Bac Giang to Thai Nguyen. Many cars coming here see the barrier and are forced to turn around and find another way.
People are looking forward to the bridge opening soon to make travel easier. Currently, they have to go through concrete pillars, and it is dangerous at night," said Mr. Tai.
On September 3, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Tran Van Toan - Chairman of Dong Cao Ward People's Committee confirmed that Hoa Son bridge is still not open to traffic.
"The approach road to the bridge in the ward is under construction and has been paved with asphalt. However, the approach road has not been completed yet, so pillars must still be erected to prevent vehicles from crossing the bridge.
This section of the road will not be basically completed until mid-September. In addition, there is a problem with the fact that the power poles and transformer stations have not been relocated. The problem of relocation is mainly due to the electricity industry, but the households in the area have no more problems," the leader added.
Previously, information from the Thai Nguyen Provincial Traffic Construction Project Management Board said that the Hoa Son bridge approach road in Thai Nguyen province is the starting point of the Thai Nguyen - Bac Giang - Vinh Phuc connecting road project.
The total length of the access road is 4km. Construction is currently underway and is expected to be completed in 2024.
The 4km route from the beginning of Hoa Son bridge to Ring Road 5 has 20 electric pole locations. Currently, a plan has been made and there is a plan for relocation.
