On August 12, in Hoai Nhon Dong ward (Gia Lai), the Command of Naval Region 4 coordinated with units in Naval Force Group 4 to announce and award the decision "The Navy sponsors fishermen's children" and give gifts to support families of fishermen in distress at sea.
At the program, Naval Region 4 awarded decisions to sponsor 3 students who are children of fishermen in difficult circumstances.
The students include Nguyen Kim Hoang Yen (born in 2014, student of Hoai Hai Secondary School, Hoai Nhon Dong ward); La Thi My Tram (born in 2012, student of Dieu Quang Secondary School, Hoai Nhon Dong ward) and Nguyen Ngoc Thien Nhan (born in 2018, student of Primary School No. 1 Tam Quan Bac, Hoai Nhon Bac ward).
On this occasion, Naval Region 4 presented 5 gifts to children of Mr. La Van Be and Mr. Nguyen Hung's families (Hoai Nhon Dong ward), each worth 5 million VND. The gifts included essential items for study.
In addition, Naval Region 4 coordinated with businesses to support each family with 10 million VND.
At the gift-giving ceremony, Colonel Pham Van Ket - Deputy Head of the Political Department of Naval Region 4 - as head of the working delegation and the working delegation visited and shared the losses and difficulties with the families; encouraged the families to soon stabilize their lives.
The working delegation also encouraged the students to be diligent, strive to study and train, worthy of the affection and care of Navy officers and soldiers and local authorities.
The activity "The Navy sponsors fishermen's children" is one of the practical actions to improve the effectiveness of the Program "The Vietnam Navy acts as a support for fishermen to reach out to sea and stick to the sea".
Through this activity, Navy officers and soldiers express their feelings and responsibility to fishermen and families of fishermen facing risks at sea; contributing to consolidating military-civilian solidarity, adding motivation for fishermen to feel secure in going offshore, sticking to the sea, contributing to protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
