On the afternoon of July 20, leaders of Son Hai Group Co., Ltd. (Son Hai Group) confirmed that they had sent a document to the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province regarding assigning the investor to study and prepare a pre-feasibility study report for the Nha Trang - Da Lat section construction investment project of the Nha Trang - Da Lat expressway.
Previously, on July 12, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 8873 assigning Deo Ca - Thinh Vuong Joint Venture as the investor to research and prepare a pre-feasibility study report for the above project.
According to the decision signed by Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoa Nam, the approval is only to carry out the investment preparation step according to the provisions of law. This is not a decision to select investors to implement the project.
Mr. Le Thanh Huong - Director of Son Hai Group Co., Ltd. - said that from 2023 to now, the enterprise has been the investor in researching and preparing the Pre-feasibility Study Report of the Nha Trang - Da Lat section construction investment project according to the PPP method.
From this basis, Son Hai Group proposed that Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee reconsider Decision No. 8873.
At the same time, allowing businesses to continue to conduct project research until completion according to the direction of competent state agencies.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee confirmed that they had received a document from Son Hai Group and assigned the Office of the Provincial People's Committee to be the focal point, coordinating with relevant units to advise and respond to businesses in the coming time.
According to the document of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee sent to the Ministry of Construction on June 24 regarding the investment plan for the Nha Trang - Lien Khuong expressway, the planned road is about 99km long, the starting point connecting to the North - South expressway in the East at Dien Tho commune, Khanh Hoa province, and the ending point at the foot of Prenn pass, Lam Dong province.
The route is divided into two sections including: Nha Trang - Da Lat, about 80.8km long, and Da Lat - Lien Khuong, about 18.2km long.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee proposed prioritizing investment in the Nha Trang - Da Lat section before 2030 with a scale of 4 lanes. Preliminary total investment of the project is about 25,058 billion VND.
Regarding this project, in 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired a meeting on the implementation situation of the Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) - Da Lat (Lam Dong) expressway project.
At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister assessed that the need to soon invest in this expressway is very necessary; and welcomed the proactiveness of the two localities of Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong and the enthusiasm of the investor proposing the project in the investment research process.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister's conclusion, the investor mentioned is Son Hai Group.
