Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch coordinated with the Police Department of Investigation of Crimes on Corruption, Economy, Smuggling, and Environment (Team 6) - Hanoi City Police and Noi Bai International Airport Police to inspect the luggage and goods of the above male passenger.
At the inspection area, this male passenger took out 7 pieces of metal suspected to be gold from his body; 5 pieces were placed around his waistband and 2 pieces were placed in the sole of his shoe.
The subject confessed that he was hired to transport gold from Hong Kong (China) to Vietnam. If he entered the country outside Noi Bai airport, someone would pick him up and collect the gold.
The case was handed over by the Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch to the Department of Investigation Police on Corruption, Economic, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes - Hanoi City Police for further investigation and handling according to regulations.
