On the afternoon of May 21, information from the Traffic Police Department - Ministry of Public Security said that on May 20, Highway Traffic Police Teams under Department 6 strengthened forces to record and handle violations on many highways and discovered hundreds of cases of traffic safety violations.
Accordingly, functional forces assigned 83 turns of officers and soldiers to perform the task of recording images of violating vehicles, thereby detecting a total of 532 cases. Among these, there are 32 passenger cars, 112 trucks, 319 cars, 68 container trucks and 1 ambulance.
Notably, in just one day, there were up to 69 cases of violations of regulations when entering and leaving highways. This is considered a particularly dangerous behavior because many drivers suddenly change direction, enter lanes without observation or slow down inappropriately, easily leading to collisions at high speeds.
In addition to violations related to entering and exiting the expressway, functional forces also recorded 343 cases of speeding; 29 cases of improperly avoiding and overtaking; 27 cases of driving in the wrong lane; 15 cases of stopping and parking on the expressway and 18 cases of stopping and parking in places with no-parking signs.
Initial handling results, the traffic police force stopped vehicles, made records for 73 cases, and is expected to fine about 264.7 million VND and deduct points from driver's licenses for 44 cases.
In addition, functional agencies also plan to send violation notices to 459 other cases, with a total fine of about 1.598 billion VND.
The Traffic Police Department recommends that vehicle drivers when entering and leaving highways need to reduce speed, observe carefully, turn on diversion signals and comply with traffic instructions.
Drivers should absolutely not steer suddenly or enter the lane arbitrarily to ensure safety for themselves and vehicles traveling on the route.
