Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee has just issued a notice to temporarily suspend the operation of pedestrian spaces in the Hoan Kiem Lake area and surrounding areas, including pedestrian streets in the Hanoi Old Quarter area.
The temporary suspension period is from March 13 to 7 pm on March 20.
The temporary suspension aims to focus resources on serving the organization of the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term; and at the same time ensure security and order, traffic safety, environmental sanitation and the best conditions for the festival of the whole people.
The pedestrian space in the Hoan Kiem Lake area will resume operation from 7 pm on March 20.
