On the afternoon of November 21, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province Phan Quy Phuong went to the scene of the garbage truck crash into Binh Thanh Bridge to encourage the forces participating in the search and rescue work; encouraged the families of the missing victims, directed the mobilization of forces to organize the search with optimal plans, and assessed the flow to soon find the victims.
Currently, the Binh Thanh bridge area has been blocked off. Authorities have also urged people not to gather in large numbers, as this could affect safety and search and rescue efforts.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Quy Phuong requested the authorities to properly regulate traffic at all times, especially to avoid affecting the study, medical examination and treatment of people in this area.
Previously, at around 7:15 a.m. on November 21, Mr. Ton That T. (born in 1997, residing in Thuy Van ward, Hue city) - the driver of a garbage canoe with license plate 75C-04483, with Mr. Nguyen Dang T. (born in 1966, residing in Phuong Duc ward, Hue city) on board - was traveling along Provincial Road 12D from National Highway 49 - Binh Thanh Commune People's Committee, when reaching the middle of Binh Thanh suspension bridge, he hit the bridge railing and fell into the river.
Immediately after the incident, authorities quickly organized search and rescue operations to determine the cause of the incident.
Currently, authorities are still actively searching for the two victims.
