On July 30, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, the Command of Naval Region 5 held a preliminary conference on the campaign "Management and exploitation of weapons, technical equipment well, durable, safe, economical and traffic safety" (Campaign 50) for the period 2020-2024.
Over the past 5 years, the Party Committee of the Command of Naval Region 5, the party committees, commanders at all levels, and the Steering Committee of Campaign 50 of Region 5 have regularly monitored and directed the implementation of the contents and objectives of Campaign 50 in conjunction with the military and defense tasks of the agencies and units. They have organized the dissemination, propaganda, and education of the purpose and significance of Campaign 50 and the two breakthroughs "Building a regular technical order and mastering technical equipment" to 100% of the officers and soldiers of the unit.
Integrating the criteria of Campaign 50 into various diverse and rich emulation movements has thereby raised the awareness and responsibility of the troops in managing and exploiting weapons and technical equipment well, durably, safely, economically, and ensuring traffic safety.
The entire Region has effectively ensured technical equipment for tasks, with the annual technical coefficient reaching and exceeding the target by 3-7%. The unit has mobilized over 12,000 man-days for maintenance, preservation, and repair work outside of office hours, benefiting the state by more than 4 billion VND.
The movement of research topics, initiatives, and technical improvements throughout the Region has been well promoted. Since 2020, officers and soldiers of the unit have researched and produced hundreds of technical improvement initiatives. Among them, many products are of high quality and practical value, have been certified, and applied in practice, effectively serving training, combat readiness, and technical assurance at the unit.
In his directive speech, Colonel Trinh Xuan Tung - Commander of the Region acknowledged and praised the achievements of the agencies and units in implementing Campaign 50, while also reminding the party committees and commanders at all levels to continue to thoroughly grasp and organize the effective implementation of Campaign 50; using the results of the campaign as criteria for evaluating the completion of tasks by collectives and individuals.
Regularly innovate the forms and methods of propaganda and education in organizing the implementation of the campaign; focus on improving the quality of implementing "Technical Day", the level, capacity, and ability to master the technical equipment in the unit's inventory by the technical staff and officers.
The Regional Commander requested the units to effectively implement the Navy Commander's Directive on promoting the movement of initiatives, technical improvements, applying domestic technology, and autonomous technology to improve, modernize, preserve, maintain, and repair technical equipment.
Strictly maintain the order of monitoring, guiding, directing, and inspecting the implementation of Campaign 50. Manage, exploit, and use technical equipment according to the correct procedures, avoiding loss and damage due to subjective errors, while also doing well in commendation and rewarding, spreading advanced examples in implementing the campaign, contributing to encouraging and motivating officers and soldiers to complete their assigned tasks well.
