After the success of the first season, Netflix officially brought "Better late than single" back to season 2 on July 7.
The program continues to follow single people who have never had love experience on the journey to find their first love. Accompanying the contestants is still the familiar quartet including Seo In Guk, Kang Han Na, Lee Eun Ji and Car, the Garden.
According to producer Kim No Eun, the appeal of the program lies in its authenticity and season 2 will have many changes compared to the first part. If the previous season stood out thanks to male contestants, this time female players will be more proactive and play the role of leading many situations in the program.
Director Won Seung Jae commented that the first season is like a program recording the growth process of people who know love for the first time, while season 2 has the color of a real dating program with more emotions and unpredictable choices.
As one of the people who closely followed the players, Seo In Guk used the word "gay cấn" to describe the new season. The actor said many situations made him unable to sit still while watching.
There are people who act entirely out of kindness or want to sacrifice for others, but in the end unintentionally hurt the other person. Sometimes I just want to shout to give them advice.
Comedian Lee Eun Ji also revealed that this season's contestants surprised the MCs many times. When advised to actively approach the person they like, they are proactive beyond imagination. But when advised to take time to rest, they are completely separated from everyone.
Meanwhile, Car, the Garden believes that the biggest obstacle for first-time dating people is not appearance or communication skills but... imagination.
They constantly misunderstand signals, infer everything and then confuse themselves more. But it is also from the times they were rejected that they learned to accept that not everyone who likes someone will reciprocate their feelings.
According to the production crew, the average age of season 2 contestants is also higher than the first season, helping the love story bring more mature perspectives but still retain the clumsiness and sincerity of those who enter a relationship for the first time.
