Accordingly, Article 13 of Circular 08/2024/TT-BXD stipulates the numbering of apartments in apartment buildings as follows:
1. Apartment numbering uses a series of natural numbers in order from small to large in the direction specified in Clause 2 of this Article to number apartments. The floor number is written before the apartment number, separated by a hyphen (for example: 21 - 05).
2. Apartment numbering is carried out according to the following regulations:
a) Clockwise, starting from the first apartment on the left side of the main entrance (elevator or stairs).
b) In case an apartment building has many entrances, the main entrance shall be determined by the investor. The numbering direction shall be implemented according to the principles specified in Point a of this Clause.
3. Numbering of floors in apartment buildings is carried out according to the following regulations:
a) Number the floors of the house according to the principle of taking the direction from the lower floor to the upper floor, starting from the first floor of the house (excluding the basement). Use natural numbers (1, 2, 3,..., n where n is the total number of floors of the house) to number the floors and take the number from the smallest to the largest.
b) In case of non-consecutive numbering, the previous floor number can be used combined with additional characters (for example: 4 becomes 3A; 7 becomes 6A...). The ground floor can be named instead of the 1st floor, then the following floors from bottom to top are numbered as 1st floor, 2nd floor,... n-1 floor.
c) In case the house has a basement, the basement floors are numbered according to the principle of taking the direction from the top basement floor to the bottom basement floor, starting from the basement closest to the first floor or ground floor of the house. Use natural numbers (1, 2, 3,..., n where n is the total number of basement floors of the house) to number the basement floors, taking from the smallest number to the largest number. To distinguish it from the floor of the house, add a letter symbol decided by the investor before the basement number (for example: B1, B2, B3,... or H1, H2, H3...).
4. Numbering of stairs in apartment buildings (from 2 or more shared stairs) is done according to the principle of taking the direction from the main entrance into the house, the first staircase from the left is numbered 1, the following stairs are numbered 2, 3,...n.
Circular 08/2024/TT-BXD takes effect from October 15, 2024.
