This January transfer window could be a busy one for Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta's side desperate to challenge for the Premier League title.
The Gunners need to upgrade their squad to keep up with Liverpool in the Premier League and compete in the Champions League. In particular, Bukayo Saka's long-term injury will more or less affect Arteta's attack.
So, how might Arsenal's squad change after the 2025 winter transfer window closes?
Attacking is probably where Arsenal need to spend the most money, with Saka's absence forcing them to sign a new right winger.
Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams has long been linked with a move to the Emirates, and while Saka remains Arsenal's first-choice option for the foreseeable future, Williams would be the perfect addition for the present.
Meanwhile, Wolves star Matheus Cunha has also caught the eye of the Gunners after his performances so far this season. Although his forte is not on the wing, Cunha would be a great upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli.
In the centre of attack, Alexander Isak has scored 12 Premier League goals this season and would be a great signing for Arsenal, but the Swede's reported price tag of no less than £100m could prove a major stumbling block.
In midfield, Arteta could also add another player. After signing Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2024, Arsenal are likely to reopen talks with the Spanish side to sign Martin Zubimendi.
The Spanish midfielder is reportedly open to a move to the Emirates, but Arsenal could face competition from Liverpool. Meanwhile, Martin Odegaard's place is irreplaceable even if the Gunners are interested in Arda Guler.
The defence is perhaps the area Arsenal fans are most confident about at the moment. Riccardo Calafiori only arrived last summer and will be hoping to establish himself in the future.
Meanwhile, Jurrien Timber is finally showing his true potential, having seen his debut campaign marred by injury. Timber could be a key player in Arsenal's defence alongside Gabriel, William Saliba and David Raya.
Potential Arsenal squad: Raya, Calafiori, Gabriel, Saliba, Timber, Rice, Zubimendi, Odegaard, Williams, Cunha, Isak.
