Florian Wirtz wants to reach glory in the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool after his record £116 million transfer deal to Merseyside was officially announced.
The German star has completed medical examination procedures at The Kop's training facility before signing a 5-year contract worth about 50 million pounds.
Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez will also join Liverpool after agreeing on a £40 million transfer fee agreed on Friday. Liverpool's total spending so far in the 2025 summer transfer window has been over £200 million and will probably not stop.
Wirtz said: "I want to win every year! In the end, we want to succeed. Last season, Liverpool won the Premier League, so my goal is definitely to win again and go further in the Champions League. I am really ambitious".
The 22-year-old left Bay Arena after winning the Bundesliga and German Cup in 2024 in a season in which Leverkusen were unbeaten in the domestic league. Wirtz has scored 57 goals and provided 65 assists in 197 appearances for Germany in five seasons. The attacking midfielder is considered one of the best young players in the world.

Wirtz received great attention from Bayern Munich and Manchester City but chose Merseyside. Liverpool will pay Bayer Leverkusen £100 million in advance, with the remainder being included in add-ons related to the individual success of the player and the team.
The German player's deal would break Liverpool's record of £85 million they agreed to pay Benfica to get Darwin Nunez in 2022. And if all the add-ons are achieved in the deal, it would surpass Chelsea's £115m record they paid for Brighton to get Moises Caicedo in 2023.
"I feel very happy and very proud. Finally, the contract was over and I waited a long time. I am really excited to have a new adventure ahead. This is also a big point in my thinking: I want something completely new, leave the Bundesliga and join the Premier League. I will see how I can perform here. I hope I can do my best.
I just thought this was the right time in my career to take the next step and of course I wanted to go to a club in the top three in the world. In my opinion, Liverpool is one of them.
I feel I am given the best at Liverpool. I was convinced by the people here, because the ideas and everything the club gave me were really good," Wirtz added.
Kerkez will also travel to Merseyside next Tuesday for a medical check-up. And their spending will not stop, possibly increasing to more than £200 million.

Jeremie Frimpong has been signed from Leverkusen for £29.5 million. Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili will move from Valencia for around £30 million after playing in La Liga on loan last season.
Defender Jarell Quansah is about to complete a £35 million contract with Bayer Leverkusen. That means Liverpool could sign Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
Meanwhile, a new striker remains Liverpool's target, especially if Darwin Nunez leaves as expected. Newcastle's Alexander Isak is currently receiving admiration at Anfield. The Kop need to convince Newcastle to change their stance so that they can listen to Isak's offers.
Liverpool will partly offset this summer's spending by selling players and have earned £28 million from Caoimhin Kelleher as well as Trent Alexander-Arnold. In particular, the English defender has signed a contract with Real Madrid.
With the arrival of Kerkez, Andy Robertson is considering the possibility of moving to Atletico Madrid. It is likely that his position in the squad will be replaced by a new player from Bournemouth.
