In 2024, Ho Chi Minh City will have more than 98,000 candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam. Of which, English has more than 1,700 candidates with a score of 10. More than 30,000 candidates have achieved a score of 8 or higher, accounting for about 30.7%.
Math has 49 candidates with a score of 10; 31 candidates with a score of 9.75; 276 candidates with a score of 9. In particular, there were more than 55,000 candidates with scores below 5, accounting for about 56%.
Literature did not have a score of 10, the highest exam achieved 9.5 points. There are more than 87,000 students who have achieved above 5 scores, accounting for about 88.3%. The most common score is 7.
In the total score of 3 subjects (Math, Literature, English), the highest candidate score is 28.75 points. More than 12,000 candidates have a score of 23 or higher - the score for admission to the top school group, accounting for about 12%. Calculated from a score of 20 or higher, there are 31,888 candidates, accounting for 32.24%.
The total number of candidates with scores from 15-20 points is 38,470 students, accounting for 38.9%. The number of candidates with 3 subjects from 10-15 points is 27,598, accounting for 27.91%. More than 4,400 candidates achieved less than 10 points, accounting for about 4.5%.



In 2025, the 10th grade entrance exam will have more than 76,000 candidates taking the exam. The total enrollment target of public high schools is 70,070 students. Thus, there will be about more than 6,000 students who will not pass this exam, will study at Continuing Education Centers, Vocational Education Centers - Continuing Education, vocational education, or participate in other types of education and training.
The admission score is the total score: Literature score + Foreign language score + Math score + priority and incentive score (if any).
Mr. Ho Tan Minh - Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City - said that the exam scores will be announced on June 23, the standard scores will be announced on June 26.
Previously, after completing the judging, some judges said that the Math subjects had a better general score than last year. Among the tested, students are mainly rated with 5-7 points, it is predicted that the rate of students with below-average scores in this subject will decrease.
Many English and Literature exams are graded at 6-7 points.
