Marcus Rashford has posted a message saying goodbye to Barcelona and fans on social networks, and confirmed that the possibility of long-term attachment to the Camp Nou team has officially closed.
The English striker fell into disgrace at Manchester United under coach Ruben Amorim a year ago. After a period of playing on loan at Aston Villa, Rashford continued to join Barcelona on a one-year loan contract.
The agreement between the two clubs has a buyout clause, but Barcelona decided not to activate the fee of about 26 million pounds. Previously, Rashford had repeatedly expressed his desire to continue to stick with the Catalan team.
In Barcelona's colors, the 28-year-old striker scored 14 goals in 49 appearances. He left his mark with a goal in El Clasico, contributing to helping the team successfully defend the La Liga championship. However, Rashford could not win a regular starting spot when he had to compete with Lamine Yamal and Raphinha on both wings.

Barcelona's ability to keep Rashford has also decreased significantly after this team spent 70 million pounds to recruit Anthony Gordon from Newcastle. This contract shows that the reigning La Liga champions have chosen another option for the wing flank instead of investing in Rashford.
Not stopping there, Barcelona also directed their attention to Julian Alvarez to find a replacement for Robert Lewandowski. Although Atletico Madrid does not want to sell the Argentine striker, the Camp Nou team still considers him a top target.
