According to information from the Vietnam Football Federation, the three Vietnamese national players including Nguyen Hoang Duc (Phu Dong Ninh Binh), Nguyen Quang Hai (Hanoi Police) and Do Duy Manh (Hanoi FC) were officially selected by the Southeast Asian Football Federation (AFF) into the squad of Southeast Asian stars (ASEAN All-Stars).
This is the team that will attend a special friendly match with the Manchester United club, taking place on May 28, 2025 at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).
Vietnamese players have been selected based on stable performance, professionalism and competition spirit in the past.
Accordingly, Hoang Duc is a prominent factor in the middle line with the ability to regulate the match and creative passes; Quang Hai continues to affirm the level with the technical processing and experienced international experience and Duy Manh shows the role of leader in the defense with enthusiasm and firmness.
Earlier, on October 10, AFF announced the selection of Mr. Kim Sang-Sik-the coach of the Vietnamese team who led the ASEAN ALAN-STARS team.
"Being led the best players from all ASEAN countries in such an important match is a great honor. We not only represent our nations, but are showing the world to see the pride, spirit and strength of the region," the Korean military leader said.
As noted by AFF, after bringing the Vietnamese team to win absolute and winning the championship at ASEAN Cup 2024, Mr. Kim Sang-Sik was trusted to be ASEAN ASEAN Master coach All-Stars as a testament to the excellence and belief that he created in the regional football community.
The list of ASEAN All-Stars includes the top players selected from all 12 AFF members will be announced in the near future. The list will reflect the diversity and collective strength of Southeast Asia football.
