On the evening of March 16, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) lifted the ban on registering new players for Dong A Thanh Hoa club. Previously, the Thanh Hoa team was banned from transferring players due to financial obligations with 4 foreign players who had played for the team.
After the financial issues were resolved, FIFA officially lifted the bans, allowing the club to return to the transfer market.
This decision was made during the mid-season player transfer window of the V.League 2025-2026 season that is about to end. According to the schedule of the organizers, the time limit for strengthening forces will close at 11:59 PM on March 17. Therefore, Dong A Thanh Hoa is urgently completing the necessary procedures to register more players for the second leg.
The team's coaching staff has prepared a list of 7 new faces, including young striker Le Van Hoan - a player born in 2008 who grew up from the local training system; Le Van Hung - who used to wear the U19 Vietnam team jersey; midfielder Nguyen Huu Dung - who used to play for the national team.
In addition to domestic players, Thanh Hoa is also completing procedures to register foreign player Amar Catic. He grew up from the training system of PSV Eindhoven club in the Netherlands and used to play with striker Cody Gakpo at the youth level.
Besides the above faces, the Thanh team continues to add defender Truong Thanh Nam and player Belli - Nicaraguan national team player. The club is also considering the possibility of recruiting another player from the Vietnam U23 team before the transfer market closes.
In the recent past, Thanh Hoa's force has had many fluctuations due to the impact of the transfer ban and the separation of some key players. This partly affects the team's performance in the recent period.
Coach Mai Xuan Hop expects that the addition of forces will help the team improve the depth of the squad, thereby improving achievements in the relegation race in the V.League.
