Coach Park Hang-seo is becoming the focus on social networks after heated reactions in the pre-season friendly match between Kanchanaburi club and Eastern SC in Thailand.
The incident happened when players of the two teams collided on the field. The Korean strategist immediately left the technical area, approached the touchline with the intention of rushing onto the field. Assistant Lee Jung-soo and a few others had to quickly hold him back to avoid further tension.
The video recording this moment was widely shared on Thai social networking platforms, attracting tens of thousands of interactions. Although Kanchanaburi club won 2-0, the reaction of the former Vietnamese national team coach was the most discussed topic.
Many Thai fans even expressed their interest in Mr. Park's strong personality and wished that one day he would lead the national team of this country.
In fact, this is not the first time coach Park Hang-seo has shown decisiveness outside the box. During his time leading the Vietnamese national teams from 2017 to early 2023, he repeatedly reacted strongly to referees or opponents to protect his students.
One of the notable situations occurred after the 0-0 draw between Vietnam and Thailand in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers at My Dinh Stadium in 2019. At that time, Mr. Park had a tense clash with assistant Sasa Todic of the away team because he felt insulted.
Or like at the end of 2019, in the final match of SEA Games 30 against Indonesia, Mr. Park also reacted fiercely to the refereeing team and received a direct red card.
In the semi-finals of the 2021 AFF Cup, the Korean coach was angry when he said that defender Theerathon Bunmathan had a provocative action against Vietnamese players. He continuously reacted from the technical area before the match ended.
After leaving Vietnamese football, coach Park Hang-seo took on many different roles such as running the football academy, advising Bac Ninh club and holding the position of Vice President of the Korean Football Federation.
From May 2026, he returned to coaching work when he signed a contract with Kanchanaburi team in Thai League 2.
