On May 18, coach Mano Polking of Hanoi Police attended a press conference before the 2024-2025 Southeast Asian Cup C1 final against Buriram United.
At the beginning of the press conference, Mr. Polking said: " buriram United is a very famous team in Thailand as well as the region.
In the semi-final match a few days ago, Hanoi Police had enthusiastic cheers from the audience in the semi-final and I hope Hang Day Stadium will welcome such a large audience tomorrow.
Hopefully the match will be explosive with high professional quality. Both teams have famous national players as well as good foreign players".
Regarding Buriram not having the service of Suphanat, the captain of Hanoi Police said: "Suphanat is a good player, a rising star. The absence of this player is a loss for Buriram.
However, this team does not only have Suphanat, they also have a series of other players, quality foreign players... I think Buriram has enough squad depth for tomorrow's match".
In the group stage match, Hanoi Police defeated Buriram, but coach Polking said that the nature of the final match was completely different.
"The group stage match against Buriram has ended, and tomorrow's final is important and different. The opponent has changed the lineup with many players, as well as just won the Thai championship," Mr. Polking emphasized.
In addition, Mr. Polking also mentioned the match arrangement of the organizing committee: "Hanoi Police won against Buriram in the group stage, then both teams entered the semi-finals and won to enter the final.
What I want to say is that the advantage of the teams should be used, the second leg should be held at home for the team with a better result when the first and second place in the group stage has been determined.
I am trying to understand where the problem is, why we have lost the advantage like that. For example, in the semi-finals, we played away in the first leg, in the second leg we played at Hang Day Stadium with the support of many fans and won.
I think the most important match of the season should be the second leg, but we have to play away."
Meanwhile, midfielder Quang Hai shared: "Hanoi Police have prepared well, hoping that the team will have good results with a beautiful performance for the whole country in general and the capital's fans in particular, creating the premise for the second leg of the final.
My teammates and I both felt that this was a match that had to demonstrate the ability of each person and the strength of the team. Entering the final, everyone wants to win, the team that shows its best will win.
This is a good match between the two football regions, Hanoi Police is representing Vietnam and hoping to win the championship".
