On the evening of May 11 at Binh Duong Stadium, the match between host Binh Duong and Quang Nam in round 22 of V.League 2024-2025 ended in a 0-0 draw, but the notable highlight came from striker Nguyen Tien Linh when he refused to leave the field twice despite being appointed by coach Nguyen Anh Duc to replace him.
In the 55th minute, Tien Linh was injured and had to leave the field on a stretcher. The coaching staff immediately asked Ha Duc Chinh to warm up to replace him. However, after going out of the line, Tien Linh suddenly stood up and returned to play.
About 10 minutes later, coach Anh Duc continued to intend to replace Tien Linh with Duc Chinh, but after a quick exchange with his students, he continued to let Linh stay on the field. Duc Chinh was called up twice to prepare for a substitution and then returned to the bench in regret.
Regarding this situation, coach Anh Duc explained after the match: "Tien Linh is a senior player of Binh Duong team, who has just returned from injury, so he really wanted to show his performance. Seeing your determination, I can't change completely".
Despite his efforts, Tien Linh could not make a difference, even though a one-on-one match was blocked by goalkeeper Van Cong. Duc Chinh was finally able to come on for Thanh Nhan, but did not leave any impression for about 20 minutes of play.
This is the first match coach Anh Duc has led Binh Duong. The team played with great determination but still lacked efficiency and continued to rank 9th on the rankings, while Quang Nam ranked 11th after 22 rounds.
