Vietnam team drops 3 places on FIFA rankings

    Vietnam team dropped 3 places in FIFA rankings in October 2024, ranked 119th.

    During the FIFA Days in October, the Vietnamese team only played one friendly match with the Indian team at Thien Truong Stadium (Nam Dinh). The draw against the team ranked lower in the FIFA rankings caused Vietnam to lose 0.27 points, dropping 3 places to 119th.

    This is a significant step back for the Vietnamese team, especially when at the end of 2023, the team was ranked first in Southeast Asia, 15th in Asia and 94th in the world.

    Meanwhile, the Thai team recorded a remarkable rise after winning the 2024 King's Cup. The Golden Temple team added 8.69 points thanks to victories over the Philippines and Syria, moving up to 96th place in the FIFA rankings.

    The Indonesian team was deducted 5.3 points after losing to China in the third qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup, currently ranking 130th in the world.

    In Asia, Japan continues to lead the way, reaching 15th place in the world, up one place from last month. The next teams are Iran (19), South Korea (22), Australia (24), and Qatar (40).

    In the global top 10, Argentina maintained its number 1 position, followed by France, Spain, England, and Brazil.
