Vietjet and the 200 million passenger milestone

By stably exploiting the domestic market, expanding the international flight network, and meeting passenger travel needs, Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (HOSE: VJC) has recorded positive business results in the first 9 months of 2024.

Connecting Vietnam to the world

Not only meeting the needs of exploring popular destinations, Vietjet's international routes have contributed to promoting tourism, trade and bilateral investment between Vietnam and other countries.

In the first 9 months of 2024, Vietjet transported more than 19.6 million passengers on 104,000 flights, up 6% and 2% respectively over the same period in 2023; of which more than 2.54 million were international passengers, up 9.1% over the same period in 2023.

Vietjet's fleet consists of 85 aircraft. Its flights achieve an average seat utilization rate of 87% and technical reliability of 99.7%.

Total cargo volume reached 88,964 tons, up 73% over the same period, accounting for more than 10% of the market share of cargo transported by Vietnamese airlines.

By the end of the third quarter of 2024, Vietjet will operate a total of 155 routes, including 43 domestic routes and 112 international routes.

Vietjet has launched direct flights from Da Nang to Ahmedabad (India), Xi'an (China) to Ho Chi Minh City, increased the frequency of direct flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Perth (Australia) and many other destinations in the region such as Korea, Japan, Hong Kong (China)...

In addition, the airline is promoting promotional programs to support passengers on international flights in preparation for the upcoming peak season of Christmas and Lunar New Year.

With a comprehensive flight network and strong passenger growth, in the third quarter of 2024, Vietjet welcomed its 200 millionth passenger, marking an important milestone in the journey of connecting Vietnam with the world and bringing the world to Vietnam.

Leading in promoting economic development

In the first 9 months of 2024, Vietjet recorded flight revenue of VND51.7 and VND52.2 trillion, consolidated revenue, up 32% and 19% respectively over the same period in 2023. Separate and consolidated profit after tax reached VND1,134 billion and VND1,405 billion, up 884% and 564% respectively over the same period in 2023.

The airline's ancillary and cargo revenue was strongly developed, contributing 34% of total air transport revenue and reaching 17.6 trillion VND, up 16% over the same period.

As of September 30, 2024, Vietjet's total assets reached nearly VND 94,000 billion, the debt/equity ratio was 2.25 times and the liquidity ratio was 1.4 times, at a safe level in the aviation industry.

Cash balance, bank deposits and cash equivalents reached nearly VND 3,997 billion, plus working capital limit, ensuring the company's ability to pay quickly.

Vietjet contributed nearly VND5,565 billion in direct and indirect taxes and fees in the first 9 months of 2024.

Vietjet and Rolls-Royce, the UK’s leading aerospace and engineering group, have signed an agreement to supply 40 Trent 7000 engines and TotalCare engine engineering services for 20 new Airbus A330neo aircraft. In addition, Vietjet has also signed a comprehensive engineering service agreement with Lufthansa Technik, the world’s leading aviation maintenance provider.

In October, the airline received three aircraft and will continue to receive new, environmentally friendly aircraft in the fourth quarter of this year.
