In recent days, super typhoon Yagi has caused severe damage to many provinces in the northern region. Floods and landslides have caused more difficulties for people.
With the hope of sharing the losses with the people of the North, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the Vietnam national team have donated a total of 400 million VND. Accordingly, 200 million VND from the VFF and 200 million VND from the Vietnam national team will be transferred to the severely affected localities through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
To express their deep sympathy and understanding with the people and unfortunate victims of Typhoon Yagi, the Vietnamese and Thai teams observed a minute of silence before the friendly match at My Dinh Stadium on the evening of September 10.
VFF and the Vietnam team hope that this sharing activity will contribute to supporting people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, while spreading the spirit of mutual love and social responsibility in the community.
Previously, VFF organized a friendly tournament between the teams of Vietnam, Russia and Thailand during FIFA Days in September. However, due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi, the organizers were forced to cancel the match between Russia and Thailand scheduled for September 7.
