Help Union members and workers have a "Union Home"

Implementing the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor's Guidelines on organizing "Union Meals" in 2024, the direct superior trade unions and the grassroots trade unions under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized "Union Meals" for 44,877 union members and employees in the unit's kitchens.
The total amount spent on the "Union Meal" in 2024 in the entire VGCL system is approximately 4.5 billion VND, of which the direct superior union at the grassroots level spends 40.2 million VND, the grassroots union spends 1,683,027 billion VND, the expertise of the grassroots union spends 2,650 billion VND and the VGCL spends 122,225 million VND...
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour allocated 466 million VND from the sector's social contribution fund to support the construction of 8 houses and repair of 3 "Union Shelters" for union members and employees with difficult housing conditions; at the same time, directly visited and presented gifts to celebrate the "Union Shelters" houses for 1 union member and employee of the Industry and Trade sector in Thanh Hoa province, 1 union member and employee of the Industry and Trade sector in Lao Cai province. The level of support and gifts is 50 million VND/built house; 20 million VND/repaired house; 3 million VND/gift/house.
In August 2024, union member Le Hong Quang - Lam Son Paper Joint Stock Company (Nong Cong district, Thanh Hoa province) was awarded 50 million VND by the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to build a "Union Shelter".
Mr. Quang is the main breadwinner in the family, with a salary of 5,800,000 VND/month; the family has 4 members, the wife does not have a stable job, the two children are still in school, he has many health problems, is often sick, and has had accidents that affect his brain. The level 4 house given to his family by his parents has deteriorated... affecting the health and daily life of family members, especially during the rainy season. Understanding the difficult circumstances of union members, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has promptly supported Mr. Quang's family to build a "Union Shelter" of 85 square meters.
Motto "All employees and workers have Tet"
According to the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, from now until the end of 2024, trade unions at all levels will continue to practically and effectively implement the "Trade Union Shelter" program, the program to improve welfare and benefits for union members and employees; implement activities to support union members and employees in difficult circumstances... especially organizing activities to care for union members and employees on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.
Recently, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has issued a plan to organize activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, with the motto "All union members and workers have Tet".
“The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour will take care of all union members and employees during Tet. Priority will be given to union members and employees in especially difficult circumstances, those who have suffered work-related accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, those affected by natural disasters, those whose working hours have been reduced, those who have lost their jobs, those who have been owed wages and bonuses; union members and employees from policy families, ethnic minorities, and those who have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet for many years; union members and employees who stay at their units to work, produce, and do business during Tet” - said the Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.
Grassroots trade unions, based on existing resources, decide on the subjects and level of spending to care for union members and workers.
The direct superior trade union at the grassroots level will take care of union members and workers who are still in difficulty and have low income; the support level is 500,000 VND/person, paid in cash; the funding source is from the reserve fund and using the existing regular operating fund.
For units that balance their own revenues and expenditures and pay their obligations to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, based on the approved regular revenue and expenditure estimates, the unit decides on a higher expenditure level but not exceeding VND 1,000,000/person (of which, cash is not more than VND 700,000 and in-kind is not more than VND 300,000) from the trade union's financial resources...
