HCMC - The next two sections of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road construction project have been officially put into operation, serving the people.

The two newly opened road sections, including Phan Thuc Duyen connecting road (from Thang Long street to 18E street), and 18E street (from Phan Thuc Duyen connecting road to Cong Hoa street), are an important part of the traffic connection project in the gateway area of Tan Son Nhat airport.

The total length of the two sections is 1.2km, 32m wide and has a cross-section of 4-6 lanes, making it easier for vehicles to move. These sections are built with modern infrastructure, including a clear lane division system, hard dividers to separate traffic flows and ensure traffic safety. The pavement and drainage systems of the section are also upgraded, ensuring effective operating conditions during the rainy season.

The special feature of these roads is the ability to direct traffic from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, helping vehicles go from Phan Thuc Duyen and Thang Long to Cong Hoa Street without having to go through heavily congested intersections such as Lang Cha Ca roundabout as before.

A representative of the HCM City Traffic Construction Investment Management Board (investor) said: "This area has a very high traffic density. The construction units have tried to work while ensuring traffic. The opening of the above sections helps reduce pressure on intersections such as Lang Cha Ca, Thang Long - Phan Thuc Duyen and Thang Long - Cong Hoa".

According to plan, the next sections to Hoang Hoa Tham Street will also be completed by the end of 2024, with the goal of opening the entire route to traffic in the first quarter of 2025.

Mr. Hoang Minh, a resident of Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City, said: "In the past, this road was often congested. Now that it has been widened and connected to major roads such as Cong Hoa and Truong Chinh, I find it much more convenient." Mr. Le Van Manh, also living in Tan Binh District, said that every morning he often saw people having to spill onto the sidewalk to walk. Now that the road is clear, he hopes this situation will no longer happen.

Previously, on August 10, the investor held the inauguration ceremony of the Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyen underpass, which is package number 9 following the above package.

With a total investment of more than VND4,800 billion, the Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project is more than 4km long, with a cross-section width of 25m to 48m and includes overpasses and underpasses at important intersections. The entire project has currently reached 85% of the construction volume. Expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025, the project will not only help improve traffic around the airport but also create an alternative route for Truong Son road - the only gateway to Tan Son Nhat airport at present.
