Potential risks from black plastic items used in the kitchen

Black plastic items in the kitchen are considered harmless but can leak toxic chemicals, increasing the risk of lung cancer, colitis and breast.

In modern kitchens, spoons, spoons, patches or clips made of black plastic are often considered convenient and safe items. However, recent studies and warnings from experts show that they can be a hiding enemy to human health.

Layne Kilpatrick, a prominent hormone health expert on social media and a registered pharmacist in Utah (USA), has warned about the risks of using black plastic in the kitchen.

Mr. Kilpatrick said that most of these tools are made from recycled plastic from computer shells, televisions and old electronic devices that contain many flame-resistant substances, heavy metals and toxic chemicals.

A recent international study also found that 85% of black kitchen appliances containing fire-resistant substances have been banned, with some products having concern levels.

More dangerously, when cooked at high temperatures, these chemicals can seep into food.

Every time you stir, flip or scoop up food made of black plastic, you may be getting hormonal disorders and carcinogens into your body. No level of exposure is safe, Mr. Kilpatrick emphasized, recommending replacing black plastic with safer materials such as stainless steel, wood or high-quality silicone. Absolutely do not heat plastic tools in the microwave or reuse them many times.

Sharing the same view, nutritionist Kanikka Malhotra (India) said the biggest concern is the leakage of polyunsaturated polyunsaturated hydrocarbures (PAHs) from black plastic into food.

PAHs are easily dissolved in fat, so cooking dishes high in oil at high temperatures (such as deep-fried) increases the risk of leakage. In addition, long exposures also increase the amount of PAHs absorbed into the food.

PAHs are compounds that can cause cancer. Long-term exposure can increase the risk of many dangerous cancers such as lung, colon and breast, Malhotra warned.

seemingly harmless items in the kitchen pose a significant health risk. Changing your usage habits, choosing safer materials, minimizing the temperature and exposure time of plastic to food will be a simple solution but bring great efficiency in protecting family health.
