Refrigeration shelf life
Fish: From the time of refrigeration for preservation, cooked fish and seafood should be consumed 2 days in advance. For frozen white fish, it should be used within 3 months and extended to 6 months if it is raw fish.
Meat: When refrigerated, stewed meat, broth or sauce can last up to 2 days; When frozen, they can last up to 4 months. You should remember to store it under good airtight conditions because the high fat content in meat can easily spoil.
Poultry: Cooked chicken and duck meat can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. When frozen, they can still be kept for more than half a year. Eggs can be kept for up to 3 weeks, however, if they are raw yolks or whites, it can be kept for a maximum of 2 - 4 days.
Soup: Refrigerated soup can last up to 4 days; If frozen, it can last up to 3 months.
Noodles and rice: Both cooked noodles and rice retain their delicious flavor if you store them in the refrigerator for less than 4 days. When frozen, they can be used within 1 month.
Storage tips
When storing a lot of cooked foods in the refrigerator , experts recommend that you set the refrigerator at a temperature of 1.7 to -5 degrees Celsius in the cooler and -18 degrees Celsius in the freezer.
We should store warm foods in shallow containers with lids to cool them faster; Be sure to keep raw foods away from cooked foods to avoid cross-contamination.
Apply labels to identify the type of food and the cooking date on the box to calculate expiration dates. Also, don't wait too long to put cooked food in the refrigerator. It's best to just wait until the food is no longer too hot to store it immediately.
