The economy is difficult, and income is lower than in previous years, so during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, Ms. Nhu's family does not dare to go to the market early. These days, Ms. Nhu mainly stays in rented accommodation to sweep, cook, and prepare new clothes for her children.

According to the female worker, in the early morning, chrysanthemums, marigolds, raspberries,... still fluctuate at 150,000 - 200,000 VND/pair. By about 9 am, flower prices dropped sharply, only about 100,000 - 130,000 VND/pair.

Luckily, now that the owner automatically reduced the price, I am extremely happy" - Ms. Nhu added with a smile.
From the 20th day of the twelfth lunar month, Mr. Tran Van Linh (Phu Thu ward, Can Tho city) also started working part-time as a hired flower carrier for gardeners. He honestly said: "I want to buy flowers from the 25th for the gardeners to come home early, but the price is too high. It's not that I'forced the price' on them, but because I don't have enough money to buy them. Now seeing that it's still 150,000 VND/pair, I buy them to take home. This noon, I will also start Tet.
In fact, the psychology of waiting until the last day to buy Tet flowers is not a "tactic" of most consumers. For workers with average incomes in particular, in the context of economic difficulties, spending from 200,000 - 500,000 VND is something that must be considered. They are also in a "difficult position".
Therefore, every Tet season, most ordinary workers only know how to accept pots of flowers that are not perfect in appearance, with the desire to brighten up the small house and bring a cozy Tet atmosphere.
