During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh once advised: "For the benefit of ten years of planting trees, for the benefit of a hundred years of nurturing people"; "Spring is Tet of planting trees, making the country increasingly springy".
Those teachings continue to remind today's and future generations of the responsibility to plant, care for and protect green trees, and preserve a sustainable living environment.
In the context of complicated natural disasters and climate change, strongly impacting people's lives and ecosystems, along with the rapid industrialization and urbanization process, planting trees and afforestation, restoring biodiversity, carbon absorption and creating green - clean - beautiful landscapes are becoming increasingly urgent.
Tree planting activities not only contribute to improving the ecological environment in urban, rural, mountainous and coastal areas but also demonstrate responsibility for sustainable development.
Responding to this year's Tet tree planting, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city organized coconut planting at Tan Tra beach, both implementing Uncle Ho's teachings and contributing to building a green space for the city.
Leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city called on each citizen, each family, agency, unit and community to actively participate in planting trees, joining hands to build Da Nang city to be increasingly green, clean, and beautiful.
At the ceremony, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city planted and handed over 50 coconut trees to Ngu Hanh Son ward and the Management Board of Son Tra peninsula and city tourist beaches for management and care.
