Accordingly, based on the provisions of law, the Minutes of Administrative Violations dated June 18, 2024 prepared by the Inspector of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City fined Nobland Vietnam Co., Ltd. a total amount of money. 170 million VND for two violations.
The first act is illegally deducting employees' salaries and is subject to a fine of 70 million VND. The second act of mobilizing employees to work overtime in excess of the hours prescribed by law is subject to a fine of 100 million VND.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, previously, around April 2024, workshop F2 of Nobland Vietnam Co., Ltd. lost a large amount of goods. The company went out to find and buy goods with an amount of about 80 million VND, then requested to deduct the excess productivity of the F2 factory completion department with an amount of 40 million VND. The factory director himself admitted to deducting 10 million VND from himself, the remaining 30 million VND was deducted from the salaries of 112 F2 factory workers, the lowest was deducted nearly 66,000 VND and the highest was more than 805,000 VND with the reason for the deduction being due to loss of goods.
Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union levels then took drastic action and these 112 workers received back the money that was illegally deducted above. At the same time, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Confederation also proposed to inspect the implementation of labor laws for Nobland Vietnam Company Limited.
According to the inspection conclusion of the Inspectorate of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City, Nobland Vietnam Co., Ltd. has deducted wages incorrectly according to the law and in 2023, the company has mobilized 119 employees to work overtime exceeding 300 hours/year. .
Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also requested Nobland Vietnam Co., Ltd. to strictly comply with this sanctioning decision. If the time limit passes and the company does not voluntarily comply, it will be enforced according to the provisions of law.
