Speaking at the working session, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Truong - National Assembly Delegate, Chairman of the People's Council of Cua Nam ward (Hanoi) said that Cua Nam ward is the only grassroots unit selected by the delegation to visit, work and exchange experiences in this working trip.
This is a great honor for the Party Committee, government and people of the ward, and also shows the affection and trust that comrades have for Cua Nam ward in general and the ward Trade Union organization in particular.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Truong, today's visit and working program not only contributes to promoting the friendly and comprehensive cooperation relationship between the Trade Union organizations of the two Capitals, but is also a practical and meaningful foreign affairs activity, contributing to fostering solidarity, trust and improving the effectiveness of cooperation between the two sides.
Through exchange activities like today, we have more conditions to propagate and educate generations of officials and trade union members, especially young union members of the two countries about the tradition of friendship and special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos; thereby continuing to preserve and promote the faithful and pure relationship between the two nations" - he assessed.
Cua Nam Ward Trade Union said that there are about 16,500 trade union members working at agencies, units, and businesses in the ward.
In addition to the task of caring for and protecting the rights of workers, union member development is emphasized. In the first 8 months of 2026, the Ward Trade Union established 21 grassroots trade unions, admitting nearly 1,200 new union members.
Through the working session with the high-level delegation of the Capital Trade Union Union of Vientiane, Cua Nam Ward Trade Union wishes to continue to have more opportunities to exchange experiences, improve the capacity of trade union officials; and at the same time strengthen friendly exchanges, contributing to promoting the role of the Trade Union organization in people-to-people diplomacy and consolidating solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
Ms. Khotamine Phongyalac - Chairwoman of the Vientiane Capital Trade Union (Laos), Head of the delegation, said that currently the Vientiane Capital Trade Union has 499 trade union organizations with 52,321 members, of which 32,760 are female members.
One content that the Capital Trade Union of Vientiane is interested in is training and fostering a team of trade union officials. Within the framework of cooperation with the Hanoi Labor Federation, we have organized 8 training courses, sent 170 officials, including 66 female officials, to Vietnam to participate in training and experience exchange" - Ms. Khotamine Phongyalac shared.
In the coming time, the Capital Trade Union of Vientiane continues to implement the Resolutions of the Capital Trade Union Congress and the National Trade Union Congress; focusing on building grassroots trade unions, developing union members, protecting workers' rights and deploying emulation movements among union members and workers.
We hope that in the coming time, the Hanoi Trade Union and the Vientiane Capital Trade Union will continue to strengthen exchanges, share experiences, and support each other, thereby contributing to consolidating the special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic linkage between Vietnam and Laos" - Ms. Khotamine Phongyalac expressed.
