The Coal - Mineral industry spends 2,452 billion VND to care for Tet for workers

Over 28,000 workers in difficult circumstances in the Coal - Mineral industry have been supported and encouraged by the Trade Union and professional leaders.

On February 15, Mr. Le Thanh Xuan - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Trade Union (TKV) said that, implementing the policy of the Party, State and Vietnam General Confederation of Labour on organizing Tet care activities for workers during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026... TKV Group and TKV Trade Union have developed Tet care plans and issued decisions to support workers and difficult units, and at the same time directed units throughout the Group to organize Tet care activities for workers with the goal that all workers have Tet, all have a happy Tet, with support levels guaranteed to be equal to and higher than the Lunar New Year 2025.

Up to now, units in the Group have balanced salary sources and bonus funds to supplement salaries and bonuses... for employees.

The Group has also proactively supported units facing difficulties in production and business, ensuring 100% of employees with a level of 10 million VND/person. There are 45 units supplementing salaries in 2025 (13th month salary) for over 78 thousand employees with a total amount of 955 billion VND; there are 24 units giving Tet bonuses to nearly 42 thousand employees with a total amount of 125 billion VND; units developed plans to celebrate birthdays and start spring for nearly 84 thousand employees with a total amount of 89 billion VND.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Xuan, the total expenditure for employees on the occasion of the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 is 2,452 billion VND.

Along with that, trade union levels in the industry have coordinated to organize support for train and bus tickets for workers to return to their hometowns for Tet and return to work, ensuring thoughtfulness, safety, and suitability to the needs of workers and the conditions of the unit. In which, pay attention to workers and families of workers who have houses in remote and isolated areas to have plans to support transportation.

In total, there were 314 train and bus trips to take workers home for Tet, totaling 11,887 people, with a total amount of 5.6 billion VND; supporting 20,000 bus tickets for workers in remote and isolated areas who are not arranged for transportation with a total amount of 16.3 billion VND. It is expected that there will be 283 bus trips to pick up over 10,000 workers after Tet with a total amount of 5.2 billion VND.

In addition, units have visited and encouraged workers in difficult circumstances, workers who do not have the conditions to return to their hometowns for Tet, and workers who are sick or have unstable labor accidents being treated at medical facilities. A total of over 28,000 cases with a total amount of 25.4 billion VND.

Trade unions at all levels coordinated professionally to organize for over 28,000 people to participate in trade union meals and year-end meals with a total amount of 3.3 billion VND.

1,200 workers were given Tet gifts in kind from the "Trade Union Tet Market - Online" program with an amount of 500,000 VND/person.
