Article 22 of the Law on Social Insurance 2024 stipulates as follows:
Regimes, order, and procedures for implementing social pension benefits
1. The monthly social pension subsidy level is prescribed by the Government in accordance with the socio-economic development conditions and the capacity of the state budget in each period. Every 3 years, the Government reviews and considers adjusting the social pension subsidy level.
Depending on socio-economic conditions, the ability to balance the budget and mobilize social resources, the Provincial People's Committee shall submit to the People's Council of the same level a decision on additional support for social pension beneficiaries.
2. In case the subjects specified in Article 21 of this Law are also subjects receiving monthly social allowances, they will receive a higher allowance.
3. People who are receiving monthly social pension benefits are covered by state health insurance according to the provisions of the law on health insurance. When they die, the funeral arrangements organization or individual will receive support for funeral expenses according to the provisions of the law on the elderly.
4. The Government stipulates the order and procedures for implementing social pension benefits.
Accordingly, people who are receiving monthly social pension benefits are covered by the State (from the State budget) for health insurance according to the provisions of the law on health insurance.
