According to Article 169 of the 2019 Labor Code and Decree 135/2020/ND-CP, the retirement age in 2024 under normal conditions: Male workers are 61 years old, female workers are 56 years and 4 months.
Pursuant to Article 169 and Article 219 of the 2019 Labor Code, the roadmap to increase the retirement age of employees in 2024, in the case of a female employee aged 51 years and 4 months, she can retire if she has paid 20 years of social insurance and has 1 of the following conditions:
- Have 15 years of working in a profession or job that is heavy, toxic, dangerous/exceptionally heavy, toxic, or dangerous.
- Have worked for 15 years in an area with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions, including working time in a place with a regional allowance coefficient of 0.7 before January 1, 2021.
- Having reduced working capacity from 61% - less than 81%.
In addition, in 2024, people who have paid social insurance for 20 years and meet one of the following conditions will be eligible to retire without considering retirement age:
- Have at least 15 years of experience working in a profession that is particularly heavy, toxic, or dangerous and has reduced working capacity by ≥ 61%.
- Infected with HIV/AIDS due to an occupational accident while performing assigned tasks.
