Check the Vietnamese keyboard
The most common cause is that the keyboard such as UniKey or EVKey is not turned on.
How to do it: Check the UniKey or EVKey icon under the Taskbar → If not opened, restart the software → Switch to V mode (Vietnamese).
Check the code table and type
Choosing the wrong code table or typing style also makes the computer unable to type Vietnamese.
How to do it: Open UniKey → Select Code Sheet: Unicode → Select Typing style: Telex or VNI as a habit → Press Close.
Restart UniKey
The typing system may malfunction after the computer operates for a long time.
How to do it: Completely exit UniKey → Reopen the software → Check the Vietnamese typing capability.
Run UniKey with administrator rights
Some software or browsers require UniKey to run with administrator rights.
How to do it: Right-click on the UniKey icon → Select Run as administrator.
Keyboard language test
Windows may be switching to an English or other language keyboard.
How to do it: Press Windows + Space or Alt + Shift → Select Vietnamese or English (US) as needed → Check again.
Turn off other percussion
If you install multiple keyboards at the same time, they may conflict with each other.
How to do it: Only keep UniKey or EVKey → Close or remove other keyboards if not used.
Update or reinstall UniKey
Older versions of the keyboard can generate errors on new Windows versions.
How to do it: Uninstall the current UniKey → Download the new version from the official page → Reset → Launch the software.
Restart the computer
If the error appears after updating Windows or installing new software, restarting may help fix it.
How to do it: Save job → Restart computer → Reopen UniKey and check.
Update Windows
Some updates may fix errors related to the Vietnamese keyboard or typewriter.
How to do it: Open Settings → Windows Update → Select Check for updates → Install if there is a new version.
