The S23 and S23 Plus bring small updates to last year's S22 and S22 Plus.
flatter and minimalist design
A notable design change is that both the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus no longer have large camera Islands on the rear, but instead have 3 separate cameras, making the overall design more neat and minimalist. This change is also completely in line with the Ultra model, when it removed the camera island a year ago. In addition, the camera location and flashlights of the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus are completely the same as the previous version.
Fans of flat-flat phones will be delighted to know that both the Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus have flat screens and flat backs, with just a slightly curved metal frame.
For those interested in durability, the phone is IP68 waterproof, like its predecessors. This means they can survive in freshwater at a depth of 1.5 meters for up to half an hour, so a light rain will not affect them.
In terms of weight, the Galaxy S23 is smaller and lighter at 168 grams, while the S23 Plus is larger and weighs 196 grams.
This means users will have a comfortable, compact 6.1-inch display on the S23, and a wider 6.6-inch display on the Plus version.
In addition to batteries and screens, both have most of the same specifications. The S23 Plus is actually a larger version of the S23, for those who want a large screen but don't want to pay the high price of the S23 Ultra. The screens of both models use Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology, with FHD+ resolution and perhaps most notably, the refresh rate can range from 48 to 120Hz on both models.
Going deeper into the technical specifications, the S23 and S23 Plus are launched with the same camera setup as last year. These two devices have a 50MP main camera paired with a 12-MP maximum-angle camera and a 10-MP telephoto lens.
The Galaxy S23 version comes with a 3,900mAh battery with fast charging, while the S23 Plus comes with faster charging technology and a larger battery pack. The regular S23 model will have a basic storage capacity of 128GB, while the S23 Plus has a double the basic storage capacity, with 256GB.
Saying goodbye to Exynos chip
Inside, all phones in the Galaxy S23 series are equipped with the latest leading Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and there will be no model using the Exynos chip, something that has never happened before.
Now, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 signals a good deal for the powerful multi-purpose features on Samsung's flagships, such as multi-purpose screen sharing, window app, and ban mode called Samsung DeX.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus can be pre-ordered today for $800 and $1,000 respectively, and both come in magical Black, ice cream, Green River and lavender.
