On the occasion of the traditional Tet holiday Chôl Chnăm Thmây 2026, the Border Guard of Can Tho City deploys many practical activities, contributing to caring for the material and spiritual life of officers, soldiers and Khmer people in the area, according to VNA.
In which, on the morning of April 11, Lai Hoa Border Guard Station coordinated with the Women's Union, Lai Hoa Commune Youth Union and Vinh Phuoc Ward (Can Tho) to organize the 11th "0-dong Booth" program. The activity aims to support households in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the traditional Tet of the Khmer people, and at the same time celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification.
At the program, the Organizing Committee presented 70 gifts including rice, instant noodles and essential necessities to households in particularly difficult circumstances in Lai Hoa commune and Vinh Phuoc ward. The gifts contributed to helping people celebrate Tet in a warm and meaningful atmosphere.
Previously, on the afternoon of April 10, the Border Guard Command of Can Tho City organized a meeting with cadres and soldiers who are Khmer ethnic people. Here, Colonel Pham Le Xuan Binh - Commander of Can Tho City Border Guard sent New Year greetings and gifts to encourage 56 cadres and soldiers working at the unit.
Leaders of the city border guards acknowledged and praised the efforts of the Khmer ethnic cadres and soldiers. Over the past time, this force has well promoted its role as a bridge between the unit and the people, contributing to building a solid all-people border defense.
The commander of the city department requested the entire force to continue to promote tradition, improve political bravery, and vigilance. Units need to strictly comply with discipline, maintain combat readiness, proactively grasp the situation in the area, and strengthen patrols and inspections to fight and prevent crimes.
In addition, the border guard force continues to promote mass mobilization, participate in socio-economic development and care for the lives of people in coastal border areas, contributing to maintaining local stability.
