To celebrate the country's major holidays, the "Shining Xoe Round" Contest 2026 will be held during the April 30th and May 1st holidays, creating a cultural and tourism highlight in the Muong Lo area.
According to the plan, the contest will take place in 3 days, from April 28 to 30, 2026, at Golden Field Square (Tong Phong Group, Nghia Lo Ward, Lao Cai Province).
The program is co-organized by the People's Committees of Nghia Lo, Trung Tam, Cau Thia wards and Lien Son commune.
The event aims to honor and spread the value of Thai Xoe Art - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity that has been recognized by UNESCO.
At the same time, this is also a practical activity contributing to preserving national cultural identity in modern life.
It is expected that 8 Xoe dance teams will participate in the contest, gathering a large number of artisans and extras. The teams will perform traditional Xoe dances combined with creativity, recreating the unique cultural beauty of the Thai people in Muong Lo region.
Through the contest, a joyful and exciting atmosphere is spread in the community, and at the same time contributes to attracting tourists to Lao Cai during the holidays.
