Among the ancient Muong villages of Muong Bi commune (Phu Tho province), a team of reputable people always accompanies the grassroots police force, contributing to maintaining security and order, preserving national cultural identity and consolidating the great national unity bloc, according to the Phu Tho Provincial Police e-Portal.
After arranging administrative units, Muong Bi commune has more than 20,900 people with many hamlets and villages where Muong people live. The commune police have built, consolidated and promoted the role of 42 prestigious people who are village elders, clan heads, artisans, and exemplary elderly people in propagating and mobilizing people to comply with the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State.
Meritorious artisan, shaman Bui Van Lung in Muong Lam hamlet is one of the typical examples. With his understanding of the customs, habits and language of the Muong people, he regularly coordinates with the commune police to propagate crime prevention and control, drugs, and online fraud; mobilize people to hand over weapons, explosives and illegal support tools.
Mr. Bui Van Lung shared: "If we want people to listen, we must first set an example. The peace of Muong village is the responsibility of everyone.
From the beginning of 2026 to now, a team of reputable people has coordinated to organize 38 legal propaganda sessions with more than 3,500 participants; provided 68 valuable information sources, of which 31 information sources directly serve the fight against and prevention of crime; successfully reconciled 26 conflicts; mobilized the handover of 3 homemade guns, 12 rudimentary weapons and participated in reforming and educating 15 cases at risk of violating the law.
The model "Family self-management on security and order" continues to be effective when clan heads and reputable people mobilize their children and grandchildren to implement the "3 no" goals: not violating the law, not engaging in social evils, not allowing bad actors to take advantage, incite, or divide the great national unity bloc.
Besides maintaining peace in the village, the team of prestigious people also actively mobilizes to build new rural areas, develop the economy, preserve Muong cultural values such as Mo Muong, gongs, Vi singing, Rang singing, Khai Ha Festival and eliminate outdated customs.
Major Bui Tien Lam, Head of Muong Bi Commune Police, affirmed that a team of reputable people is an important fulcrum to help the police force firmly grasp the local situation, effectively resolve many cases right from the grassroots level, contributing to building a solid people's hearts battle.
